Hello to all!
I am a volunteer at Haigh Hall 15 Inch Miniature Railway and many people do not know the railway exists or that it is even open! Well, I'm here to tell you that we are back!!! After 2 & 1/2 years laying dormant the railway is under new management, and is operating passenger trains from 11am till 4pm at weekends between Haigh Hall and The Walled Gardens.
Above we see myself about to take out a Santa Special passenger train back to Haigh Hall from The Walled Gardens, proving we are operational! The tinsel and signs are all added on, for the special occasion.
The railway is now a volunteer-run railway and we welcome any new volunteers that may wish to join us, the more the merrier! We do maintenance and track work during weekdays and between trains at the weekend. The railway is not currently fully operational but is a work in progress and could be finished by Easter 2014, maybe earlier with the help of more people.
We have recently run Santa Specials between the two stations very successfully and would like to further our specials later on.
We would love people such as yourselves to come and visit us, have a ride and maybe come and volunteer on the railway!
I thank you for taking time to read this blog and hope I can keep you updated on the future of the railway.
(December 2013)
